Coping in a COVID-19 World:Building Mindful Resilience, Stronger Immunity, and Healthy Movement SkillsA Virtual Day Retreat – October 16, 20209 a.m. – 3 p.m. Mountain Time OR 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern TimeInformation and Registration/Payment BelowIn January, we looked forward to another year; many of us perhaps hoping for a year of 20-20 clarity, a new year of positive change, and growth. As the old saying goes, “Be careful for what you wish”, we are now quite clear about how this year has changed and impacted our personal, family, community, and global lives.Your retreat hosts, Deborah Gullo and Marta Lucas, with whom many of you have worked before, have designed this virtual retreat with focus on learning ways to invigorate, bring resilience to and balance our lives despite the pandemic that surrounds us. With Marta’s background in massage therapy, movement and fitness, and Deborah’s background in yoga and meditation, we invite you to join us for this day retreat. Our offerings will be:•Body-weight Fitness. 9-10:45 a.m. (11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. EDT) You don’t need a gym membership, hand weights, a resistance band, a medicine ball or a workout partner when all you really need is your own body weight to get you fit! This class will teach you proper form and correct use of muscles to develop strength in your upper body, lower body and core. Maximum of 10 participants. Cost per student $10. Registration for this module will close on October 14th.**** 15-minute virtual intermission *****•Tarka (Reflection) and Journaling. 11 a.m. – Noon (1-2 p.m. EDT) A simple, quiet way to reflect on and record daily life events and living within a pandemic bubble. (Participants will need to have a small notebook and pencil or pen available for use during this session.) Maximum of 20 participants. Cost per student $5. Registration for this module will close on October 14th.30-minute virtual lunch breakWe will stay connected during this time for informal sharing for any who wish it•The Gifts of Yin Yoga. 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. (2:30 – 3:45 p.m. EDT) An exploration of simple supported yoga postures for pure stress relief. Participants will need a yoga mat, a large, firm throw pillow or yoga bolster, and a yoga blanket or large beach towel. Maximum of 10 participants. Cost per student $10. Registration for this module will close on October 14th.***** 15-minute virtual intermission ****•Aromatherapy. 2-3 p.m. (4-5 p.m. EDT) The pandemic is causing all kinds of angst to our physical and emotional bodies. We will discuss four Essential Oils that will bring balance and support to our Nervous system, Immune system, and Digestive system. Even if you don’t like to use essential oils directly on your body, this class will offer ideas for how you can use the oils in your home to achieve the balance that we all seek in our lives now. A sample of the oils we’ll use will be delivered to you prior to the class. Maximum of 20 participants. Cost per student $15 (includes cost of supplies).
